What would it take for you to be really satisfied?  "If I only had" [we often say, usually filling in the blanks with material items], "then I would be happy."

He also said, “Watch out for the teachers of the law” (Mark 12:38).  On at least three occasions He urged His followers to “Watch out that no one deceives you.” 

It’s all a matter of perspective.  Question:  Who are your heroes?  And, why? 

Long ago the writer of the book of Hebrews said that the word of God, meaning the Bible, is sharp and powerful. 

In analyzing what the Bible says about faith, I have come to the conclusion that real faith contains two elements: belief which is intellectual and appeals to the mind, and trust which is experiential and demands a response to what you believe.

Any tragedy--great or small--forces us to acknowledge our humanity, and often that realization leaves us depressed or immobilized.

Seldom, however, do we think of a rain shower as being a wonder or something of awe, yet when you consider the complexity of the whole process, which we take for granted, it's a whole different issue.

Why a sovereign God spares some and allows others to face the fire is something that we will never fully understand this side of heaven.  That fact was again illustrated on the morning of September 11 when the World Trade Center was destroyed.
